When swimming or diving in the North Sea, you usually don’t see them at all, and yet these marine predators are there: sharks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zeeland<\/a> as the southwestern province of the Netherlands consists of a number of islands and peninsulas. The North Sea with the cycle of the tides forms many sea arms there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year in spring, the cuttlefish<\/a> come to these sea arms to lay their eggs in the shallow water. Many of these cuttlefish die afterwards. I have always suspected that predatory fish also hunt these invertebrates. But during the many dives I have never seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exactly at the time of the cuttlefish I went diving there with my former girlfriend. We were astonished when we found a catshark<\/a> buried in the seabed. This shark was about 1 meter tall and was waiting for prey. During this encounter this small series of pictures of this kind of shark was taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
